FAQ

Freqently asked questions

Q: How can I present a paper at the Symposium?

A: The deadline for submission of papers to the Symposium (March 1, 2008) has now passed. All papers submitted are being reviewed by the International Scientific Committee and selections for presentation are being made.

Only one paper per presenting author is allowed. Papers will either be presented as 10- or 15-minute lectures or as short "seminar" presentations (3 minutes) accompanied by a poster displayed for general viewing.

There is a small number of longer keynote lectures that have already been selected and confirmed. All authors whose work is selected by the International Scientific Committee will receive a written invitation to attend the Symposium and present. All presenting authors must register in order to have their paper included on the program.

Q: Can I attend the Symposium without presenting a paper?

A: Yes. Send a request for a letter of invitation to hassan.aref.email@gmail.com. All attendees must register.

Q: Can I apply to the Symposium for financial support?

A: Yes, in principle... In practice the support we have is rather limited and is primarily intended for young researchers without access to funds through their universities, government grants, and the like.

Please pursue all possible avenues of funding before asking the Symposium for support. In any event, we plan only to support local expenses (no travel) and we may not be able to provide full support.

If you would like to apply, please send an e-mail to Dorte.Glass@fysik.dtu.dk . Please include copies of partial commitments from other sources (or letters of declination from them) and any other useful documentation that you can. Please submit all materials in electronic form.
