Hotel Strand
The registration on Sunday will take place at the Hotel Strand - in close vicinity to most of your hotels, the Metro and the city. The registration will take place from 5:00PM - 8:00PM in the lobby of the hotel. Here you will be given the program of the Symposium and leaflets with suggestions on what to see and do while you are in Copenhagen and have some spare time. This may also be a good way of a first meeting with some of the other participants.
Carlsberg Honorary Residence
The reception on Monday will take place in the former honorary residence at the Carlsberg breweries, originally the mansion of the brewmaster J. C. Jacobsen. This splendid house was for about 30 years the home of Niels Bohr. It is today used by various learned societies and is the base of the Carlsberg Academy.
The quid pro quo for hosting a reception was that we have some scientific lectures in conjunction with the reception. Since accompanying persons will be invited, these will be geared for a broader audience. Keith Moffatt and Russ Donnelly have kindly agreed to provide these lectures. There may also be a brief presentation on the house and grounds, and light refreshments will be served. It should be a grand evening worthy of the occasion. Let us assume that Helmholtz would have approved!
Busses from DTU to the Carlsberg breweries will be provided. We will give accompanying persons clear directions on how to get there.
"Golf i Lunden" Restaurant
The banquet on Wednesday will be held at Charlottenlund Travbane (Racing Track!!) - not on the track itself, but in a building overlooking the track! We have arranged for busses to take you there right after the last seminar and the busses will also pick you up at 11PM after the banquet and drive you to Kongens Nytorv. For spouses to get from the City (Kongens Nytorv) to Charlottenlund Travbane take the bus number 1A (direction Hellerup St.) to Svanemollens Station and change to bus number 14 (direction Klampenborg St.). Get off at Strandhojsvej - the bus driver will alert you. From there it is a short walk to the Racing Track.
